Default Can you use a 250mm Blade in Kapex?

    Gday all,
I know that Kapex blades are 260mm, but I'm interested to see if anyone has used 250mm in this saw?
I can access some good 250mm blades and would like to use them in the saw, but concerned that it might just miss cutting through at the fence edge, or maybe depth might be a problem... I know the best way is to try it and see, but hoped somebody here may have already tried it...
    Cheers

I am surprised that no one has answered this. I would imagine that it would be OK to do this, provided the teeth go below the insert horizontal surface.

The other unknown is the blade thickness. The Festool Kapex manual specifies blades with 2mm kerf only, but I am not sure what would happen if you put a standard 3.2mm blade in its place. Whatever you do, make sure the blade teeth have a -ve rake angle.
    regards,

Sorry, I didn't see this post before. Yes, 250 mm blades do work in the Kapex. There are several companies in the US reboring the arbor of 10" (250 mm) blades to fit the Kapex.

Might have to try this. Would get around the Kapex's shallow trenching limit on the depth limit knob.
I'm still amazed they didn't design that limit to be able to handle half of the saw's maximum cut depth for lap joints....

The others he kerf thickness is important as it will throw out the laser calibration as per other coments, the other thing is the kapex is designed around a negative rake tooth position meaning it leans slightly back like an aluminium blade.
