It's a smart decision - as a reputable player Festool cannot be seen to be taking ideas from others and then releasing the product, it would seriously damage their reputation.

Buying clever companies with great in-house or already established IP is a nice way to get your hands on smart products in an above-board way.

Take a look at SawStop, same story.

Ive got no issue with it being on back order, these things happen. But an email every week with a new guess date, gets a bit much. Just be honest and say 'we don't know when it will come'.

At least Festool (Tooltechnic) are keeping you up to date with what is happening. I also have an item on back order. Other companies might take your money, say it is OS and then leave you hanging for months.

Mine was due to be delivered today.
    But no go.

    Maybe later this evening.
    Or tomorrow.

    Anyone else?
    Thanks,

I borrowed a mate's TSO last year and loved it.
Waited for the right time to buy my own when I saw Festool was bringing it out at almost half the price.
Amazed the price dropped so much.
Ordered one on the 2nd of July and finally arrived mid September.
It now hangs on the Great Wall of Festool.

    Received Friday.
    Very happy.
Can't come close to the price and quality.

Would have preferred it be Festool Green.
And not just a sticker label.

Now looking for ideas for storage for it.
    Thanks,

Here's the one they designed for the GRS 16: TSO Limited Edition Systainer & GRS-16 Insert - TSO Products LLC.

I wonder how the festool square compares to the benchdogs version which has a similar price but looks a bit more solid?

    Benchdogs Rail Square - Festool / Makita / Triton / Evolution - V2

The benchdogs version has the option to use dogs on a MFT and a support bar.

I seriously considered the Benchdog version but I don't like the locking system. Too much mucking around attaching the track.
The postage is what kills the deal. $50-$60 for postage is too much over the Festool option.

Yes the postage is high but I'm happy to pay that if the product is better.
The locking system requires an allen key but other than that I can't see a problem, in fact, it seems a better/stronger long lasting system
I also like the support bar to stop the square flapping around and the use of dogs on a MFT style top.
I for one will be buying this

Have used this Festool square a few times now. No fuss - make a mark and cut. 90 degrees (no less, no more). perfect squares when needed. Does not need a fancy home as it will be used too often for that.

Have you got a reference for that, Barry; I couldn't find it in the SKU 3D Warehouse?
