Default Alternative to Festool clamps on homemade MFT

    Hello,

I've realised that some form of table (similiar to the Festool MFT) would be very handy. A good height, and proviso for clamps and what not to make life easier while enjoying the wonderful world of Dominos. It would also be very good for holding work while sanding.

The table itself should be easy to knock up - just MDF on legs with holes drilled throughout.

BUT... I've seen the price of these MFT-SP clamps

There HAS to be an alternative..... Does anyone know of any of these that are much cheaper? The standard sliding toggle clamps that you get from McJing's etc are too high. These MFT-SP's are nice and low, very close to the bench - meaning they won't stick up above the work, which would make sanding easier.

    Thanks for your feedback.

    Nathan.

    Hi Bryan,

I just Googled those thanks to you. I picked up a Festool 105 sander from VEK at the show - can't believe I didn't see these! (Just on that note, I've always received nothing but excellent service from VEK at Narellan - my first stop now for any machinery, especially Festool).

VEK's Smithfield shop is 3 minutes from work, so I will call in there and see if they have any left.

    Thanks for the heads up!

    Nathan.
