Default Alternative for plastic strip on tracks

I have had a quick search of the forum, but couldn't find an answer. That doesn't mean it's not there, but probably more so that my search capability sucks.
I'm looking for an alternative to the genuine plastic strips on the edge of the tracks. I have a 1400 and a 3000 track, and have had to replace the strip several times as it just won't stay stuck. Each time I've replaced it i have cleaned down the track with acetone or thinners to completely remove any old glue, and I always try to store them flat. If I can't store them flat for any particular reason, I always clamp a piece of timber to them to keep the strip pressed against the track.
It's rather annoying, so if you've got any suggestions, I'm all ears.

Can’t help you with an alternate
I haven’t had to replace mine yet but have had no trouble with them coming off.
I am careful though to not rest them on the strip edge

If you are talking about the splinter guard strip try the makita one.

Keep your existing guard, rip it right off, clean it down well and use this stuff to reattach it: 5mm~100mm wide Choose, 30 Meters

    Grab a 30M x 10mm....

This tape grips at the atomic level. It is insane. It never ever looses its grip. I use it for lining boxes.

Thanks for the replies. I've done the ring around, inquiring about the Makita strips, and no-one stocks it but will get back to me on Monday. A fella at work has a couple of Makita tracks that appear to have suffered quite a bit of abuse, and they're still stuck strong.
Thanks for the link to the tape woodPixel. I'm not a big buyer of things on the internet, and it always makes me nervous, but I will keep it in mind if the Makita stuff isn't available or uneconomical.

For what it's worth, mine stay stuck on in the middle, and come loose at the ends.

I figured it was due to heat - so the most obvious question, are your rails being subjected to inappropriate levels of heat, and if so, can you change this.

Whilst mine only came loose at the ends, I figured a simple solution:

    (1) Wrap a small length of painters (blue) tape along the same line as the splinter guard from the top, over the edge, and along the bottom.
    (2) Over that, put a small bulldog clip.

Your ends won't come looks again, and the painters tape not only helps adhere the splinter guard, but prevents any marring of the rail or strip from the bulldog clip.

From memory the 5m roll of Festool splitter guard is comparable in price if you buy the same length in Makita

But at least the Makita one stays on whereas the Festool crap just falls off.

Strange, the length of splinter guard that I replaced years ago is still stuck on. I don't think I did any special preparation either.

Was it the black strip or the new clear one?

Sorry for the lack of replies, as I've been away.

Not quite. The 5 metre Festool strip is $71 from Carbatec. I can get 2 x 3 metre Makita strips for $14.50 each from Trade Tools. Still waiting for them to arrive, though.

Ditch the FESTOOL system and go for BOSCH.
I did and have never looked back.
The BOSCH track system is FAR superior.
You will NEVER have that problem again.
METABO and MAFELL saws will also work on BOSCH tracks.
BOSCH tracks also have a far better joining system that takes seconds and are cheaper than FESTOOL.
It's just about impossible to misalign them.
Just for the record I have no affiliation with BOSCH.
