Default beeping alarm on Festool ctm midi 1

    Hi all
    a query
I have above model Festsool vacum, used at home, hobby workshop use, I understand why festool fitted a sensor and alarm to some of their models.
For use with dangerous substances, understand how there is a chip in end of vacum hose, sensed by a sensor where hose plugs in.

My unit also as the extra cyclone tank to collect dust before it gets to the filter ,it is quite effective ( festool unit).
The alarm going of , irritates me . All of my sanding is wood, the filter is nowhere near full, when it goes of.
Has anyone any knowledge of how to to disable the alarm. If I had known about the alarm issue I would not have bought one.
    regards all
    Noreik

I think you’ll find the alarm is telling you the paper element filter is starting to get restricted, I just take mine off and blow it out with compressed air. Also check the hose thoroughly all along it’s length I’ve had wood chips get caught half way slong and that alters the airflow.

I wonder if the extra restriction from the cyclone is making it trigger earlier than it normally would without the cyclone

    Default Beep alarm

    h Fellas
    thanks for info so far.
I do tend to agree that maybe the extra cyclone collector ,obviously adds to the restriction of the vacum. However have tried system with the cyclone on and off , appears same. Paper filter ,the one that pulls out appears quite clean and tidy , with majority collected in the cyclone collector and filter bag. For ino the dust is mostly jarra dust and quite fine,it does seem to block up the filter bag material. bag about 1/8 th full.
i cut trhe end of the bag off . Turned it in and out gently "beat it"" used compressed air. Now like new. Folded end over . Was going to use a piece of plastic tube with slot in it, no suitable diameter at hand . So used a whole bunch of bulldog clips, till some tube comes to hand. So far so good, though would like to disable alarm
    best to all

The beeping is to say that there is not enough air flow.
I have the same dust extractor.
When I use my Festool DTS400, I need to use an adaptor to allow extra air through the hose. This is the part. Festool Suction sleeve D27 BP-AS/CT online

Have you tried turning the suction down on the CT midi - the control is there for the sanders
