Default Bought a Kapex - now I'm worried

Having decided that my $149 green makita chop saw had reached the end of its useful life after 4years hard service, I spent several weeks researching a new slide mitre. I say researching but I think I always knew it would be another festool for the collection.

But here's my dilemma. When I buy festool, my other half can spot a systainer at 100m, so I've taken to sneaking them in under cover of darkness, but that's difficult to do with a Kapex. So I chose to smuggle it into the workshop early this morning.

All was going well when I got distracted by the multiple green knobs and 'stuff' when I suddenly realised that my darling wife was standing next to me. For 10 minutes we discussed 'stuff' and all the while I'm waiting for the inevitable. But nothing, not even a raised eyebrow, and a Kapex is not exactly discrete!

So my worry, has she given up on me, or has she done something far worse that I've yet to discover, or does my punishment await in ikea.

Damn good saw though, did a load of skirting a and architrave this morning. Blown away as ever by the simplicity and the fact it just does what it should, perfectly.

If she wants a $ for $ spend on IKEA, you'll need the saw to build an extension to put all the new IKEA stuff in

Just accept that your doom is sealed. The sword of Damocles hangs above your head and you simply need to say "yes" when it comes.

Accept fate. Fighting it will just make it worse....

No systainer with the Kapex perhaps and the penny has not dropped.

I feel we need a sword of Damocles emoji. It would be well used by the members of this forum.

Ditto ,this is a handy one if you're sill going the Festool line ,but it can be another systainer...to hide
I have the OF1010 ,as well as the OF2200. For everyday use the 1400 is good as far as I am concerned.Ultimately it's what you can afford whether or not it's a Festool!

    Cheers

Having been in this position a 'number of times', I would CHOOSE to believe that, having married you, her judgement is just SO good that she has also recognised the quality and value implied in Festool tools?
That way, you can at least be comfortable until you find out what she is REALLY up to to?

We have always worked on the basis that if one gets something of a certain value the other one can go out and spend the same amount hence the value of tools may well equate to the value of the Jewellery collection. I wouldn't attempt to sneak anything large into the shed the divorce would wreck my retirement plans.

Eewwww, Ikea. I feel your pain dude. Your wife needs to rearrange her thinking, you know, see you as a kind of oompah loompah who will make her glorious items for your home made with love and gorgeous aussie timbers and then neither of you will ever have to stray again into Ikea (again ewww!).
