The depth stop chuck is getting mixed reviews. Apparently okay in plasterboard but inconsistent in harder materials. Too many variables.

With the current project we are trying the depth-setting Duo chuck with 10g screws into 19mm yellow-tongue flooring, no pre-drilling, no pre-countersinking, into pine joists. It's tough work, tough enough to be breaking the phillips bits and the screws. Not the best outcome using the depth-setting Duo chuck on this project.

As an experiment, we will give pre-drilling pilot/countersink a go first, this should take the stress out of the job and better evaluate the Duo depth setting capability/precision. The Duo chuck I assume is designed for plasterboard work, but should also perform on timber - although what we are trying seems to be a bit rough on the Duo (and everything else).

It isn't marked. The DeWalt isn't marked either! The Metabo was a NiCad.
