    Default Carvex Jigsaws

    Hi all, back to hassle you again, any help much appreciated!!

    I'm just a bit unsure of the 'accessories Systainer' that comes with the PSB 400 EBQ-Set AUS. If i'm reading this right then the accessory Systainer is an SYS 1, or is the Jigsaw in a SYS 1 and the accessories in SYS 2?
    FESTOOL PSB 400 EBQ-Set CARVEX Jigsaw

    FESTOOL SYS ZH-SYS-PS 400 Accessory Systainer 2

    It's not clear on the Festool site as to what actually comes in the accessories systainer....

    Linkage here - Festool Pendulum jigsaw CARVEX PSB 400

    I have asked a tool shop but all i got back was 'scope of delivery' from the Festool site..

    hi carpoid.

    from what i have learnt looking at some festool carvex videos on youtube and festoolusa.com, the carvex jigsaw comes in a systainer 1 with 1 plastic standard base plate and 1 stickfix felt base plate for delicate surfaces.

    i believe that you get 7 accessories in the systainer 2 accessory carvex set.

    these 7 accessories are listed under accessories on the festool.com.au website.

    1. bevel base. 496 134. any angle can be dialled in + or - 45 degrees.
    2. adapter table. 497 303. can be used with guide rail and circle cutter.
    3. circle cutting attachment. 497 304
    4. dimpled base plate. 497 298. low friction plate for use when dust extraction is not available.
    5. hard fibre base plate. 497 299. for general wood use. will not pick up chips or fillings.
    6. metal cutting base plate. 497 300. it has a steel insert which makes the base plate more sturdy and durable than the standard base.
    7. 5 X splinterguards. 490 120. clear plastic inserts.

    regards, justin.

    Thanks for that guys, makes sense, but i i wish when looking at the the Festool site or other adverts for the complete set, it would show a pic of the accessory systainer or at least list the product code as per the link to the advert for the accessory systainer on its own.

    I find it a bit vague, especially on the Festool site as i can't even find the accessory systainer on its own. I like to be sure what i'm getting if i'm to order online.

    Matt.

    John, this is a cut and paste from the advert for the Jigsaw Set,

    2 saw blades, splinterguard, accessory systainer in SYS 1

    I don't understand why they don't quote exactly what you're getting when purchasing the EBQ - Set AUS. Makes it all a bit vague and i'm nervous about ordering one.

    Thanks John.

    Did you buy the PSB 400 EBQ-Set CARVEX Jigsaw? Is this what actually came with it?

    Yes I did, bought it last year at the Melbourne WW show ,however the accessory systainer is an added extra that costs you unless you can get it in a package arrangement as I did then.

    Sometimes Festool do a promo with special pricing packages especially with new tool release ,this was'nt the case for me it was a special show package price was handy because they also shipped it to WA for me and I didnt have to carry it home as extra baggage.

    Cheers

    Thanks John.

    I think maybe i haven't been clear enough in my original post.

    I'll try again.

    On the Festool website, it says the PSB 400 EBQ-Set CARVEX Jigsaw comes with "2 saw blades, splinterguard, accessory systainer in SYS 1"

    I'm trying to work out if the accessory systainer it says it comes with is the FESTOOL SYS ZH-SYS-PS 400 (as per your pic).

    For the price it goes for, which is around $899, i guess it must be.

    I think the advert for the PSB 400 EBQ-Set CARVEX Jigsaw should give a clearer breakdown of what is actually offered. If it comes with the SYS ZH-SYS-PS 400 then i think they should say so, and even show a pic of it.

    Sorry if i haven't been making sense!

    Thanks for your help

    I think the basic Carvex in a Systainer is just regarded as a set, and if purchased together with the accessory systainer then it is regarded as PLUS.

    Here is a link to the brochure which lists the battery model as well as the fixed electrical models.

    The most innovative jigsaw ever - CARVEX

    I suggest you PM Anthony the sponsor of this Festool forum for clarification as he might put you in the right picture.

    Cheers

    Not according to this;

    Festool Pendulum jigsaw CARVEX PSB 400

    PSB 400 EBQ-Set AUS

    Scope of delivery,
    • 2 saw blades
    • splinterguard
    • standard baseplate and StickFix baseplate
    • accessories SYSTAINER

    The Plus version does not include the accessories systainer.

    Hi,

    There are a lot of options for the new CARVEX jigsaw range, and a lot of available models with confusing codes to make it very difficult to understand what might be the best model and/or set and what you get with it.

    I will try and describe it all....

    Firstly there are two styles of grip, the barrel grip and the saddle grip.
    The barrel grip has a code PS 400, and the saddle grip has a code PSB 400.

    Then there are corded and cordless versions.
    The corded versions don't have any change in code, but the cordless versions have a C appended to the alpha part of the code. For example a cordless barrel grip is a PSC 400 and a cordless saddle grip is a PSBC 400.

    Features and accessories.
    The codes after the numerical 400 define what is included, including features and accessories.

    • All the CARVED have electronics controlling speed, torque, overload, etc, so have an E after the numerical 400.
    • All the CARVEX have an electronic blade brake so have a B after the E.
    • The corded versions are all plug-it type, there are no fixed-lead CARVEX. So the corded have a Q after the B.
    • If the CARVEX comes in a Systainer it is followed by PLUS, and if it is part of a set of many accessories it is followed by SET. With respect to tools in Systainers (PLUS versions) any SET version is also delivered in a Systainer even though the PLUS code is replaced by SET.

    As an example the barrel grip corded model with all the accessories supplied as a set would be the PSB 400 EQB-SET.

    Just to confuse things, there are some cordless models designated GG where the EB might otherwise be. There are cordless versions with no charger. Designed for people who already have a suitable charger supplied with the Festool lithium-ion cordless drill, who don't want two chargers. These GG models cannot be ordered as SET versions.

    PLUS versus SET.

    The PLUS version of the corded model includes:

    • The CARVEX jigsaw;
    • 2 saw blades;
    • splinterguard;
    • standard baseplate
    • StickFix baseplate
    • plug-it lead
    • in a SYSTAINER SYS 1

    The PLUS version of the cordless model includes:

    • The CARVEX jigsaw;
    • 2 saw blades;
    • splinterguard;
    • standard baseplate
    • StickFix baseplate
    • charger TRC 3;
    • battery pack BPS 15 Li 2.6 Ah
    • in a SYSTAINER SYS 2

    The SET version contains everything in the PLUS, plus another Systainer containing the following:

    • 5 splinterguards;
    • dimpled baseplate,
    • hard fibre baseplate,
    • baseplate for metallic materials;
    • Adjustable Angle Bevel Base;
    • circle cutting attachment (includes adjustable trammel and another base which is also used for cutting on a guide rail);
    • StickFix felt
    • switch lock for CMS
    • in a SYSTAINER SYS 2

    Essentially the SET version contains every accessory in the CARVEX range excluding a guide rail.

    Hope this helps some.

    That's awesome Anthony, thanks for clearing that up for us

    I should be a bit clearer in the adverts i think.

    I was assuming what you posted to be what i would get by ordering the PSB 400 Set - but i try not to assume anything, we all know where that can get us
