Default Cheaper antistatic hoses for Festool

I discovered yesterday that Bosch makes a 35mm antistatic hose that is essentially identical to the Festool 36mm hose. The Bosch is 5m in length to the 3.5m of the Festool. Importantly, the Bosch is considerably lower in price ($182 AUD including shipping from Amazon USA)

To attach to my CT26 it needs the addition of a Festool 452894 Rotating Connector For D 36 Antistatic Hose ($46 AUD including shipping from Amazon USA) ..

I could not find a local seller of the Bosch, so ordered from Amazon. Total cost $228 vs $320 for the Festool from Carbatec.

    Will update once received.

    Regards from Perth

I was sure Festool offer longer hoses, and they do. Your purchase looks even better when a 5m Festool hose costs $416 locally.

Shame they had to use 36mm, 38mm antistatic is easier to come by. Condiflex is available for $30 a metre and not a lot more for Nilfisk. There's a few vac specialists who stock it and will post cheaply. Vacuum Doctor are in WA.

The 36mm Bosch hose is just terrific. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

I did get a 50mm antistatic hose from Vacuum Doctor in Perth. The hose is very stiff, and is just to connect the antistatic Dust Commander. One has to add in the cost of a couple of antistatic connectors. All up, a 2m length with connectors cost $200. My experience with VD was lousy. Really poor service. I would go elsewhere if there is somewhere else to go.

Fair enough, I've never heard of anyone who claims VD was a good experience Good to hear the Bosch hose gets the thumbs up, hard to argue against amazons prices.

just an update for anyone considering the bosch: the festool rotating connector for D36 (to connect the hose to the vacuum) has changed part number... twice now I think. The latest fe$tool vacs have RFID chips in the hose and vac connectors.
I believe the latest (RFID included) part is 204920, and previously (RFID free) was 202931.

Price remains $74 at the time of writing. I can only find this piece of plastic on Fe$tool's site at the moment (and out of stock) - nothing on the usual get-it-cheaper sites yet.

Any one know WHY we need an RFID chip on a freaking suction hose? Is this another solution to a non-existent problem??

With the new EU OHaS rules the vac has to warn you when there is a drop in suction.

To know how much suction is correct the vac has to know which hose you have connected.

In the past you dialed the hose size on the front of the vac but it was possible to pick the wrong size to fool the vac's warning system.

And here I thought we in Ars3-tralia were living in a nanny state!! Geeze - sounds like the Brussles Eurocrats have really been spinning up the make-work for their empire.

So you're saying every extraction system sold in the EU now has to comply with this pressure drop?

No. Only the ones that are used in industry that have to conform to (IIRC) a dust class M* classification.

*(have a warning when the pressure drops because the bag is full or the hose is blocked)

Just an update on this if anyone is going this route, I couldn't find the rotating adaptor on Amazon anymore and the part number has changed. The parts I used to get the Bosch hose connected to a CT26:

    Bosch 5m 35mm anti static hose ($161 part VAC008) - Bosch 5-Meter Anti-Static Hose 35mm: Amazon.com.au: Home Improvement
    Festool rotating adapter D 36 ($74 -part 202931) - Antistatic Plug-it Hose Rotating Adapter 36 mm
Festool 36mm anti-static hose connector for tool ($51.50 part 500670) - (Anti Static Reducing Sleeve for Extractor 32 mm / 36 mm)

Last item is only if you want to replace the 27mm tool end with a larger 36mm one. Also, you'll need parts from both the Bosch and Festool rotating adapters to fit the Bosch hose to the Festool adapter.

For comparison, 5m 36mm anti static Festool hose with RFID is $459.
