They said it couldn't be done!
Probably most of you know it can, but anyway.
Here's a 5mm x 5mm rebate cut into what will be the back of a small Krenov inspired cabinet using the Domino. I did this simply by setting the cut to 2.5mm in from the edge of the piece to be rebated and then using a plastic collar 23mm long placed over one of the plunge cylinders.
A general formula for the collars is: length of collar=28-cut depth required. So you can cut any depth that your heart desires up to 28mm.
I know its old news, but anyway...

I'm old so be kind!
Do I take it that you have used the Domino like a router to cut that rebate?
If so, I guess you don't have a router.
Maybe I'm missing something. Sorry if I've misinterpreted this post.

I nearly had a go at that on the weekend but chickened out and went to the router plane instead. I wasn't sure whether I'd get a presentation quality edge as it was a recess for a glass inset. Anyway, tablesaw and router plane did the job. The domi did a good job for a back piece though. I gather you just used the fences as per normal and ran it around by hand?

Hi Carry and Groggy,
Carry, I have several routers, this is just another job the Domino can do. The beauty is that you can control the exact point at which to stop the cut without using stops and setting up the router/router table. So no, you're not missing anything, I just like the convenience of being able to use one less tool.
Groggy, All I did was use the Domi as I normally would. If you use the 3x cut width and overlap the cuts, with a little practice, you don't get ridges happening. When you get to the ends, switch back to 1x width and use the marks on the plate to cut an exact distance.
Regards,
Rob

I used the Dom 'alternatively' a few weeks ago to route the channels for a set of counter bolts (from underside no less!). Drilled the end holes with 35mm bit, clamped a piece of wood for a stop 10mm off the center layout line, and went for overlapping plunges. Clean as, super fast.
Do nothing, stay ahead

Looks great Rob. Looking foward to seeing the completed cabinet. Have you started on the legs yet?
