Thread: CT26/36 E Dust extractors.

CT26/36 E Dust extractors.
With the new DUST extractors there a number of supplementary add-ons available nominally for an extra electrical/compressed air plugin.
I'm wondering with the additional electrical outlet whether to go with the Continuous Current or the Automatic switch which I have a tendency towards to.
Any suggestions would be most appreciated in defining perhaps differences I may have overlooked.
TIA
CheersJohnno

It depends on why you want the second outlet, of its going to be used on a tool then you would want the auto, if its going to be used just as a power outlet for things like a charger or a light get the other.

I put the auto outlet on my new ct36. One for the kapex and the other to the boom arm power. Very very handy.

I have recently acquired the CT26 with my domino and love the auto power option. The only problem with it is that the outlet is limited to 1200W, so for me I cant use it with some of my other branded power tools. Does anyone know if the other optional power slots (continuous or auto) have this limitation too? Does the extra auto slot just utilise the original auto/man switch or does it have its own? Do these have to be fitted by a festool dealer or can a licensed electrical contractor perform the transplant?
I have a deep admiration for my new festool friends and am just discovering that the possibilities seem to be endless!!!!!!

Gotta admit I never gave thought to all those points that BTman raised, certainly some salient points there that perhaps an electrician or dealer might be able to help with.
thanks for raising those points BT

Although the CT26/36 can manage 2400W through the sockets (total through one or both if second socket is fitted), Australian regulation requires they be specified as 1200W. So that the total draw of motor and tool do not exceed 2400W through the mains GPO.
