Which Domino to keep
Having bought the Senca adapter for the Domino DF700 I was in two minds whether to keep the smaller DF500 with it's smaller footprint & with the weight that I was always comfortable with. The DF700 is a beast there's no doubt about that however the adapter available for it made the decision easy for me to let another forum member have it,as he has been exchanging emails about doing a fitout and needing such a toy for this use.
Being undecided for a long time & had not got the adapter until recently ,this made the decision easier & am glad that the member will get to do his fitout with what he reckons will help him in his tasks.Johnno

Initially the 700 is pretty daunting if you are used to the 500, but after the first couple of dominoes you don’t look back, do you? I have used my 700 so much that the cutters have lost their black coating and now look like chrome!
I have that Seneca adapter too and wonder why Festool don’t make one. Its very useful. It's all part of the service here at The House of Pain™

I have used the 700 a few times now,but having the Seneca adapter makes it more versatile as I still have a set of smaller cutters & domino tenons in a couple of systainers to work with.

Oh yeah! (Self head-slap).
To be fair, almost all of my work has been in the architectural size range* for a few years now, and the XL is a natural fit for me. The hefty size and stability is an added bonus when trying to use up my supply of Barbie** dominoes. The next most useful accessory I want is a custom 12 & 14 mm domino moulder cutter I am going to order. After using $1000 worth of dominos on one project I have lost my appetite for convenience
*not quite chain mortiser size, but getting there.
