    Default A Domino at last

Finally, after waiting for a year...Im back in the U.K. for a few weeks. My new 110v Domino just arrived
Just opened it up and did a plunge check. All seems wellI did notice a small piece of wood chip. Ive heard they take a plunge cut in the factory for QC, is this true?
Anyway, cant wait to get it back to the workshop (Japan) and start making some domi holes! This should really speed things up in the workshop, and make life easier
    Cheers!

Congratulations. I've had mine a week or two but haven't been able to really use it yet, too much painting etc .

Apparently, each Domi makes 2 plunges in the factory for QA purposes.

Fine, even Groggy has one now.

Do you know Festool and GMC are made in the same factory?

Onya, Underused. Did you have to swap out the plug end, or does it fit just as it comes?
    Cheers,

    Bob

Wongo, You're not praying hard enough mate it took me a year of praying
Bloke, yeah it'll be easier to just cut this one off (big industrial 110v plug for on site work) and wire a Japanese plug straight on.
If theres a problem in the future with it, I'll just wire the old plug back on before sending it back. Hoping that wont happen though.
Im counting the pennies, and trying to convince the wife a few more festool purchases would be a sound investment

Anyone know the round over bit size that makes perfect domis?
    cheers!

    Underused,

Lignum (et al.) are making their own. Find out his method by looking here, at post # 284.

Sheeez Bob you have a good memory I had a go at rounding over with a router bit but found it quicker to run along the jointer.

Every now and again i get a box of 8mm but i much prefer the home made. the biggest is 56 x 33 x 10mm for the largest setting and thats a beauty for bigger stuff like table leg/rails.

The pic below shows why i prefer the chamfer as it lets out excess glue and the "sharp/flat" edge seems to slice into the end and makes a very good fit.

Thanks for the link Bloke just what I needed to see.
TJY the manual will come in handy mate, cheers for that. the manual I have with this is a bit, umm... messy
Lignum, I reckon thats the way I will go with my homemade domi's. Looks like the most simple, but affective way of producing them
Might just bring my flight forward, so I can get back to the workshop

I put together two end tables with a brand new Domino cutter today. I can't believe how accurate they are... and safe!
I found that as much as I tried to be accurate and check my measurements on the Triton biscuit system, it was always a little bit out. I didn't mind sanding but you shouldn't need to.
Well, this little beast has won me.
It's a pity the price excludes so many keen people.
