The new generation of Festool/Protool lithium ion cordless drills have a significant difference to others on the market.

Brushless EC-TEC motor with integrated motor management for long service life and the highest output
Impressive ergonomics: Compact, lightweight and perfectly balanced
Fully electron torque setting and switch-off for precise fastening
Switch over from fastening to drilling without changing the torque setting
FastFix interface for all FastFix attachments and CENTROTEC rapid tool-change system
Latest Lithium-ion battery technology for the longest sustained usage
The most important feature is that it is one of the ONLY lithium ion cordless tools that are still made in Germany, 95 % of all other cordless drills are made in china
3year warranty on tool AND batteries

I've had mine since they were released. I've had and used all other brands and can say this is one rolls royce of a drill. Very pricey, but you do get what you pay for. Use mine at work about 2-3 times a week and can honestly say I the batteries last me about a month before I need to swap them. The trigger is very very smooth and great for cabinet work and fitting fiddly hardware like metal runners. Its got heaps of grunt for its voltage range. Electronic controlled torque is a huge bonus when dealing with small screws. Just stops and beeps when the screw doesnt want to go in anymore. None of that impact like action you get with other drills.

I suggest go test one out at your local dealer.

Did you charge the batteries once you received it, or are you working on the charge that was in them once delivered?
