Thread: Festool 150/3 repair advice

I have had some good news.
A benefactor has helped my buy a new sander from Ideal Tools.
I decided to stick with the 150/3 because I love the fine finish I got with my old sander.

Then I gave Idea Tools a call and this really helpful bloke called Anthony helped my part with a few more dollars.
With any luck I might be able to revive my poor little sander as well.

By the end of the week life should be pretty good again.

That would be St. Anthony of Williamstown. He truly is a wonderful man.

BTW: I've never seen a man two fisted sanding!

No problem Rob. The Rotex is a beast one-handed but I reckon I could use a 150 in each hand.

A slight delay but Anthony Express posted the new Controller.
Only 4 wires. Two small screws to loosen. The controller was replaced quickly.
I plugged the sander up and held the case in place while I pulled the trigger..........a very pleasing hum as life returned.

The only set back was finding where I had "carefully" saved the screws for the case.

A couple of shots of the revived 150/3 at work. Not a difficult job but you need to hold the sander with one hand and rotate the djembe with the other. Lots of round surfaces and sharp edges. Mishaps make a mess of the sanding pads!!!

The finished drum looks fantastic compared to the hand carved African original.

Feeling pretty happy and looking forward to the new 150/5!!!
