    Default Festool Air Sander

Let me state I have and use Festool tools and they are great if they do the job. So, I started to look at sanders and decided I would buy the 150/7 air sander, I am crafty if it is air then no one can borrow it and I can also use it for wet sanding. The price is $830 here in Oz and $330 in America! (FestoolJunkie.com) will buy in the US, thanks Festool Australia for nothing. Yes it is a whinge and I rarely do it, but this is just stupid. I have always ignored the price knockers in the past as I always reckon you get what you pay for but not this time.

I thought any US Festool dealer weren't allowed to ship Festools outside of the USA.

That's usually the case & the only around it is get someone locally to purchase it & mail it for you.

    Or have anexpensive holiday.

    cheers

There are now proxy mail delivery addresses anyone can use in the US. You nominate the address and on arrival there it is forwarded on to the international buyer, this has been mentioned in these fora before. There is always a way around things and if there is not then someone invents it. I would have the sander in my hands for about $400AUD or at least low 400's which is a considerable saving on Festool Oz's price. I have always coughed up the money but not this time.

    Onya Chris, way to go.

Makes good sense using the air tools if you;ve a good capacity compressor.

I've vented my feelings on Festools prices here in Oz, however most are stuck with the system that is in place if wanting the tool here in Oz without travelling.

Of course if travelling you're still bound by the $1000 customs limit.

    Cheers

John, I have never really worried about the price disparity as you and others have but then the difference has never been of this order, I just ignored it and paid up and will again on other stuff. I will investigate what the panel beating trade is using these days then make a decision, I just feel better venting my feelings about this particular difference on a tool that is not voltage dependant and thus can be bought by anyone who has the air system to run it. You would think on air tools they would be closer in pricing, not further apart like double the price. The dealers must really get sick of defending the pricing policy, I think I would in their place.

As I pointed out there are now ways to buy in the US if you so desire without a domestic address of your own, try here......
