Default FESTOOL BPS12 Drill NiMH Batteries

Hi. Can anyone tell me if FESTOOL BPS12 NiMH batteries can be refurbished and where it can be done? I have 2 that will no longer hold a charge.
    Thanks for any advice.

It's not that hard to DIY - pretty standard cells. You can get full kits (like this on fleabay) if you don't want to build the pack up yourself - still around half the cost of a new one, but who knows what the quality of the cells is.

You’ll get a rush of ‘danger explosion’ warnings in a minute!

The short answer is yes it probably will- all the drill knows is how much power it’s getting. It doesn’t care if the volts come from Li or NiMh. However, the charger will not work with Li, and you’ll need to add in balancing and safety circuits to a Li pack. Charging Lithium batteries incorrectly is dangerous and could ruin your health by removing your face.
So it’s only something that you should do if you know what you’re doing, and you’re going to ditch the old charger.

It’s hardly worth the hassle when you can buy a 5amp hour original Festool one for $150. The charger issue is one to address though, ask the Festool shop.
