It's a bit odd the eccentric chuck is not designed to hold the Centrotec or Keyless chuck like the right-angle chuck can. And it only partially locks in Centrotec accessories as Bryan mentioned. I guess the designers wanted to keep the eccentric chuck/bit combo small and made the locking holder to take small bits only. The trade off being it only partially locks in Centrotec accessories. Well it's not odd at all really, the eccentric chuck was designed before the introduction of the Centrotec range. Lucky though the right-angle chuck does fit the later released Centrotec chuck, even if the eccentric ones does not. I guess evolution is not perfect.

Re: the eccentric chuck fitting different types of bits..... The detents on small bits are slightly more pronounced than that on Centrotec accessories. So the eccentric chuck does not lock them in. If the Centrotec detents being in the same location were a little deeper, the ball bearings in the eccentric holder would lock onto them no problems.

If it really bugs you you could try filing the detents on the relevant Centrotec item to make them larger and it might lock into the eccentric chuck. I can't see how this would upset the Centrotec accessory at all. But modify tools at your own risk. < usual disclaimer.

just seems so dumb that they didnt think of the clearance hole or pilot hole that needs to be drilled before you screw with that off set chuck

i will try to twick it on the weekend and get back to you guys and tell you if it worked
