I've only had the opportunity to get this new saw into in my hands just the once... It does look tricky and works as in the video (although I find the fast-action cutting of the video more style than informative) and will be a great addition to the Festool line up. As discussed, not everyone will need one of these, but some will certainly appreciate the addition of a new cordless pendulum saw in the Festool range. I think I'd like one for post and rail fencing.

I don't think it will be a big seller in Oz but we will have to wait and see. I can't see chippies buying it and I suspect the price is going to stop the average home woodworker buying it if Festool's history in pricing is any guide.

Yes, there's no question at all that this is aimed only at trades people (although the very serious man about the house with building project would have a use for it). As such, it will either perform well or go the way of the Ti 15.

If it means that you can get down off the rafters in less time and have a safer experience whilst there, then that's got to be a good thing.

I don't think they're doing themselves any big favours with that video - it's, well, tricky to get hold of some aspects of it.

Yes - did the video even show it plunge cutting? It can do that as well as being a pendulum saw.

Can't remember, but certainly plunge cutting is news to me, so maybe it's not shown.
