Gary,
Iceland is, if you judge by success in the pursuit of happiness (one of the three objectives in the Declaration of Independence), according to this website: http://www.nationmaster.com/graph/li...-happiness-net . Australia is fifth, and the US trails at #13, just behind the Phillippines, and just ahead of France

Tasmania is THE greatest little country (or it would be if we seceded) .
So far, the seppos who have found their way here seem like good blokes. (one of 'em reckons he knows about AFL footy (thats Australian Football League for you seppos). Why don't you form a collective and vote that brain dead moron, Bush, out of office.
Anyway, on to the Dominant Domino. I have a Domino and though I haven't had time to make anything yet (other than the little beech stool give-away I got with it) I have spent a fair amount of time practicing its uses. Amazing is all I can say. I've already sold my biscuit joiner, big Makita router and cutters I used to use making joints and joining stuff.
If you seppos have any hesitation in getting one, just close your eyes and pretend it was made in the USA (where everything is supposed to be bigger, better and cheaper) and you won't feel any pain.
Oh! btw, welcome to our country. If you never made a mistake, you never made anything!

Gee mate, those sure are mean- spirited words. Does your little country have a President? That's right.....you blokes are still under the Queen of England, right?
I was in your country back in 1970 for a week leave from Viet Nam. Didn't really see much. Went to a bar and sat down for a pint and asked the guy next to me what was on the T.V. It was some kind of sporting game and he explained to me for over an hour and I didn't understand one word he said
You blokes sure do talk funny.....but I won't hold that against you either.

Looks like a post I made earlier is missing, but I've ordered the Domino, it should get here this week. Picked up the pendulum saw also, bringing the total number of Festool members in the shop to three.
Little concerned with the cost of tenons but I'm curious to try fabricating custom lengths in house. Should be a great tool.
Later,
Jeff G.

Jeff Wright on Sawmill Creek has come up with a great tip for using with the Domino's index pins; he suggests using one or more 1/10" thick rare-earth magnets on the index pins to get them to measure distances less than 37 mm. They are each close enough to 2.5 mm thick.
