    Default Festool Domino Miss-Alignment

    Hi all,

Help needed with my Domino. For quite a few years now I have noticed that my machine does not mortice parallel to the fence. To overcome this I have had to put several layers of masking tape on one side of the fence. I am getting a bit sick and tired of having to keep replacing the tape. Does anyone know if there is anyway that I can adjust the fence or main body to remedy this. I have attached an image of two pieces of MDF that were morticed without the masking tape and hopefully you can see how the two pieces when fitted together are at an angle.

    Thanks in advance

    Darren

Hi Darren, I have the Df700 which seem to have the identical fence and rail type assembly, there doesn't seem to be any obvious way of adjusting this on mine.
Maybe there is some adjust where gearbox assembly is mounted, there seem to be a lot of screws on mine so mybe there are some shims in there.
You could contact Festool service and ask but short of that you would need to machine some aluminium off the other side of the fence.

I would ask festool to fix it, for a precise, expensive tool like a domino I would just get it done right.

One would assume it was faulty from new and not gone out of square.

    Hi Darren,
Some people have trouble with the fence racking in use. Best way around this is to buy a Seneca Domiplate. It is a fence that bolts on the bottom of the domino. The tool is then used upside down.

Read these threads on the FOG:

    Domino 700 Adjustment

Domino mortices not horizontal.Anyone seen this before?I still love the thing!

Bottom line: send the machine back to Festool.
