    Default Festool Price Increases

Looks like around 6% on the tools and up to 10% on some consumables.

Guys, it is not my intention to start a campaign. Merely to inform. I love the Festool gear and I do not believe that their price increases are out of wack considering other tool price increases recently.

    Default festool

Makes mine worth more, however we have 4 festool retailers within a 20 klm radius on the Sunshine Coast fighting for sales so the the best quote gets it.

I guess what i am saying is, dont worry about price rise just shop around.

I can understand your fraustration.....for us its an ever bigger nightmare,we end up having to adjust over 10,000 product lines every jan for festool & protool & now we have to do it again

God knows whats gonna happen when the government runs out of money & the econoomy gets worse.

Some of the suppliers have put up there prices by 25% which makes it hard as there is noway we can absorb that kind of price increase due to the margins usually being approx 10-20%......its creating alot of unstable pricing in the market place which makes it hard for the consumer & the distributor

All the suppliers bumped there prices up when the fuel prices went up but we never saw a drop when thhe fuel prices went down

Hopefullly when the aus dollar goes up we see a price decrease but i wouldnt hold my breath

Wow... bad news but glad I saw this thread, just the motivation I needed. I managed to pick up a TS55EBQ Plus, a PS300EQ Plus and an EHL65EQ Plus at the old prices. All up under $2k (even less with my $900 Ruddles)...

    This green Kool-aid tastes great!

Seems that nobody cares if Ryobi or Makita or Hitachi or other tool manufacturers who have lesser reputations raise their prices, but everyone screams blue murder when Festool do! (I will accept that Makita are almost on the same footing)
All those who buy direct from the US don't seem to mind when the A$ careens about, they just keep buying.
It's too easy to complain about rises, even knowing that you are buying a top quality tool and everyone else is raising their prices. As far as I'm concerned, you need to be careful you don't throw the baby out with the bathwater when you say, "well, I'll teach them, I won't pay the extra".

    My two cents

    Regards,

    Rob

hi LGS, i recently bought a new makita dropsaw, LS1013, i paid less for this saw than i paid for the same model 12 years ago. a standard piece of kit chippies use is a small circular saw.
hitachi, makita, and bosch have not changed these prices in the 12 years that i have been buying tools in this country.

i reckon prices should come down over a period of time, once they have recovered their initial costs of r + d and production costs, they should automatically drop their prices.
what really annoys me is the people that openly say they are happy to pay more, of course we are going to get hammered with extra costs when people talk like this.

i dont like paying full price for anything, i know that all retailers mark their items up 50-100%. they have to. they have to cover themselves. i understand that is the way retail works.

personally, i have rarely paid full price for anything, i bargain and haggle for nearly every thing i own. when retailers dont want to bargain with me, i walk away.
how can we ever expect to get a good deal, when people want to pay more.

    regards, justin.

    Hi Justin,

Let me shine a light in a round-about manner. I get frustrated when people document something based pure assumptions.

Whenever you find items that are discounted 25-80% you can be sure these items are marked up 50-300%. This is how such massive 'discounts' are achieved.

But this does not mean everything in the market place is marked up so grossly high.

There are reasons some product ranges and brands are not heavily discounted, that is because they do not have such ridiculous mark-ups. Quite modest ones in fact. Festool and other good tool brands fall into this category.

I am not going to reveal what Festool mark-ups are, but most people would be shocked, and it would shatter their illusions they they are being ripped off when paying the asking price for good equipment.
