Great Vid from Festool, as usual, but what are the fundamental differences to the previous TS55 please?

The TS 55 is due to land in Australia about July/Aug depending on the speed of the boat. As you mentioned, the saw doesnt have many noticable feature improvements but rather many small changes.
Mainly it has a flat housing which allows for cutting close to edges (such as walls, doors etc)
A new riving knife system which allows stops jamming but it can also be preset for certain materials so it doesnt get in the way.
It has a clear window now so it is easier to see where you are cutting it you are looking at stopping at a particular point along a cut.
A new depth stop control which allows for use on and off the rail
In essence they have just made small changes requested from our customers over the past 7-8 years and improved an already great saw.
More information on this product will come closer to the start date here in Australia

Blair, is there any thought of making the TS 75 to be CMS compatible? I think that would be great.

Yes there is already a compatible CMS module holder for the CMS Table in the range for the TS 75 plung cut saw.
Check out the information here: Festool Module support bench saw 75 mm cutting depth
You can buy the TS 75 in a set along with the CMS System or you can buy the individual components as they fit your needs.
You can also see a user video of the saw being fitted to the module here.
