    Default Festool Tape Measure

Anyone use the festool tape measure? I like the feature where the total length including the length of the tape measure body is displayed in a window at the top of the measure. I haven't seen that feature on any other tape measure.

Never seen one, but sounds good. Can you get them here in Aus, and is it left or right handed.

    Have a look here

I also just discovered the compass feature. A foldout arm with pin comes out from the bottom of the case and a eyelet in the tape measure at the appropriate distance allows for the pencil lead. The readout on the top gives the precise radius of the circle to be drawn.

    Right handed!

I have a Cooltainer, backpack, and couple of T-Shirts.

The tape is cool though, I might second one of them for myself one day - they have been unavailable for quite some time until just now.

On the last campeign they sent some out in a systainer 1 with some organ oil, there would be some lucky guys from the working with wood show, there was about 10 of them sold included in the systainer 1's for $50 that my lovely workers didnt realise till it was too late

hi matt, i have never used the festool tape, i reckon it would be fine in a workshop, but out on site, i swear by the stanley fat max tapes.

Now that is just too much. I don't want to have anything to do with it.

I seconded one of these tape measures today, I could not help myself.

Anyway, I was pleased to note that against my steel rule it was absolutely spot on at 1000mm, not a fraction of a mm out as far as my eyes could recognise.

I have one too but I haven't adapted to it yet. I really like the read-through feature for inside measurements, but find it a bit cluttered with Metric/Imperial on a tape narrower than I'm used to (Fat Max, which is the all-around beater tape). The Festool stays on or close to the bench.

Centrotec set holder, notebook/ruler/calculator/pen set which is
tape measure, cooltainers (dirt cheap on ebay before they became popular). Sortainer which is just OK. (Got it on a promotional deal, and I think it's fine but expensive storage). I also have some mini sortainers that I got free that I find very nice for metric fasteners (keeps common sizes + drills + taps/dies all together under one size). I'm going to buy an actual tool one day instead of being one.

I refuse to buy anything Festool until their chewing gum dispenser with child prof guard and handrail hits the market.
