Festool TS55 REBQ 561555 vs 561430
Does anyone know what the difference is between the two Product numbers?
I was looking at picking up a secondhand TS REBQ however there doesn’t seem to be anyway to check what product number it is?

Hi Damienol,
The 555 replaced the 430. See note to the right of main picture on this page:

The 561555 is a TS55 REBQ while the 561430 is the earlier TS55 EBQ, can't remember what the R means.

I read somewhere the R means narrow housing.
TS = Plunge Saw (TS as in "TauchSäge")
C = Cordless
R = Narrow housing (R as in "Randnah")
E = Electronic (always comes with the Brake)
B = Brake
Q = Plug It

There were a number of improvements in the TSR:
”In other words, a TS 55 which is still unmistakably just that, but one that gives you noticeably more in every application situation.” This quote from Festool’s brochure. The TSR was introduced in 2012, so if the saw you are looking at is pre 2012 it will be the 430. As I said earlier, the one replaced the other.
For more on the new features see here: https://tts-pim.com.au/var/assets//4...r_brochure.pdf

Turns out it was a 561553. From what I can tell it is exactly the same. Bought it anyway as it still has 12 months warranty on it

The bloke I purchased the saw from Just texted to say that he bought it from the UK. Apparently he bought lots of tools at the same time so he forgot.
So there goes the warranty assurance.
He has offered a full refund
Physically it looks to be in perfect condition so unless anyone can give me a good reason to hand it back I must just hold onto it?

I would question the validity of Festool denying a warranty claim. Particularly as it is cordless.
The other question is “ will you need to claim on the warranty”
If you have all the documentation them I would try to register the product.There ain't no devil, it's just god when he's drunk!!
