    Default Kapex trick?

    G'day,
I have finally got to use the Kapex a bit more today to cut some pine. I was cutting a 30 x 30mm piece to pieces 330 long. I am a bit disappointed that there isn't a quick way to attach a stop block, but I used a scrap of wood and a clamp as I had 14 pieces to cut.

My question though relates to splitting. I was cutting the 30 x 30 mm to length and the back edge was splitting out. Is there a trick to getting a clean cut? Seeing I am using a stop block I can make a shallow cut and then turn the wood over, but is there another way?

By the way, the Kapex is great!! Quiet, dangerously accurate and repeatable and almost no dust!

Fritz, place a scrap piece of wood to the fence as a zero clearance fence, this should prevent tearout on the back of your pieces. The Kapex's fence has holes that allows you to attach an auxiliary/zero clearance fence.
