Festool 150mm ETS/5mm Sander
I want to replace my sander which is starting to make some really strange noises. This sander has been tremendous and done lots of work and has earned a good retirement.
The only item on Festool sites is the sander with systainer, cord and accessories $725.
I just want to replace my sander as I have the other items. Any suggestions please?????

Im certain I have heard before that Festool have an excellent service where you can return tools to them and they will give them a complete overhaul and essentially make them like new again. It my be a few hundred dollars but better than forking out for a new sander.

C & L Tools in Banyo does Festool repairs or will sell parts if needed. I bought the brushes for my Rotex there and replaced them myself. Get the exploded diagram for the tool for guidance if you want to do it yourself.
It's all part of the service here at The House of Pain™

Just take it to any proper Festool shop and they send it to the main service centre in Melbourne and it comes back like a new machine and you keep using it for another 15 years my et150 is 30 years old and still runs perfectly.

Yep i have sent a track saw in to Festool. Was about $80 for the repair and has worked flawlessly since. Most festool dealers can send it in for you.

I have the Festool ET150 before it became the Festool ET150 ... when it was the Festo ET2E. It is now about 30 years old. The pad has been changed several times, but otherwise it just keeps on ...

My poor festool sander
No final result yet. It is at C&L tools at Banyo as Elan Jacobs and others have suggested. You pay $20 for a quote and that is taken off the cost of repairs if you go ahead. I found out in Brisbane whether it's Carbatec, Gregory's or a tool shop like Total Tools ALL portable tools end up at C&L for service and repair. The time wait for a quote at the moment is two weeks and then a further four weeks if you go ahead with it.
They have only two service staff who do the repairs and attempts to get more repair staff have not been successful. Covid has also created difficulties for them.
Fortunately I have a Metabo duo ROS which has not done a lot of work so I am using that in the meantime.
Thanks for asking.
Kind regards to all. Kev Rodgers
