OF1400 Help
Hi WWF,
Just got my hands on an OF1400 and am setting it up and learning how to use it. I had read that you can use the rail adapters with Makita track however i cant get them both to sit on the track. Am I doing something wrong or have I been mislead by other posts?

Yep, you can. I haven't done it myself with the Makita tracks but they are interchangeable with Festool tracks. You just need to adjust the distance between the 2 rails guides, or you can use it with just one rail guide.

Setup and adjustment at 30s: YouTube . Should be able to see pretty quickly whether the Makita will work

Thanks Bernmc,
I had watched that video and it looks pretty simple.
Conclusion is that it is not possible.
My Makita tracks are about 8 years old and my rail adapters 12 hours so perhaps something has changed in between

It would be interesting to measure the distance between the two "rails" on your track - please let us know what that measurement is?
Also, please check P18 of this "After Market" manual (which is far better than the OEM): http://www.waterfront-woods.com/fest...manual_usa.pdf

I found the following thread from another forum that highligts the differences between the tracks.
Festool routers on 3 Makita/Triton Rails
Confirms that it cant be used.
Bugger. Just forked out $2k for the OF1400 and MFS700 so cant afford to upgrade the Makita at the mo

Bugger
That said, if you're going to be buying a Festool track some time, IMO, buy any and all your rails as "holey" rails (i.e. ones for the LR32 system).
I made the stupid mistake of *not* doing that, and then ended up with an LR32, and needing to buy more tracks.

Festool guy came over yesterday with a TS55 which fits the Makita track, just not as perfectly as the Festool track.
It seems the accessories are just the issue

I had been wondering if it's the outside rail that is the issue here. Seeing as the tracksaw worked ok on the inner rail, I'm thinking that might be the case.
