Best price for the QF1400
Hello, I am very intereted in purchasing the QF1400, I was hoping for the best place to get the best price?
And a couple of other questions:
1. Do you get the 8mm collet as standard.
2. Do they make a 7/16 guide bush? I need it for the Leigh 1600 dovertail jig
Thanks in advance!

Hi Storm,
Harry's right. Festool are very intransigent when it comes to pricing and a discount is difficult for a reseller to give. However, if you have a supplier you know well, you may be able to get some price relief.
As for the other questions,
1. I do not believe the 8mm collet is standard, but you can buy either the complete collet and nut for about $80.00 or the collet alone for insertion into the 12.7mm nut (which you get with the router) for somewhat less.
2. You should be able to buy the adaptor/or and 7/16" guidebush from Leigh direct, or Carbatec (who now import Leigh themselves) or MIK International.
Hope this helps,
Rob

Hi Storm
Just saw your post re the OF1400. In the US the router is supplied with a guide bush adapter. This is a post I made a while back:
"For any Leigh jig owners who want to use the Leigh guide bushes in the OF1400 you can order a Festool bush adaptor, part no 493566, which allows you to screw in the Leigh 711P guide bush and then use 8mm cutters."
I am sure that Anthony could get you one.
The OF1400 is an excellent choice for the Leigh jig as its power to weight ratio is just about right using the 8mm bits. I previously used my beloved Elu 177E which was at times a bit too heavy and powerful on the jig.
Regards
Pat
