    Default Protool PDC 18-4

Festool currently have the Protool PDC18-4 on special with and extra battery and bonus torch.
Have heard good things about thses drills but was wondering how well they work in impact mode, that is as a hammer drill for drilling small diameter holes in masonry.

    Any feedback welcome.

    Seems like an absolute bargain.
    Reduced from $700 to $314.00.

    Thumbs up Like these Protools

I have 2 of them ,never regretted getting them .

Work OK with the hammer function on masonry so far no Probs.

Long life on a battery charge mind though they are not being used 24/7 but intermitently.

Was lucky got one off of Anthony (Ideal Tools) when they had their last specials run.I cannot fault them so far ,they are not being used in a tradies work zone but on a home basis and they do for me what I expect out of a drill.

I have numerous Festool drills but I prefer these 18v Protools everytime.

Suggest trying them out (at the tool shop)to form your own opinion.

    Cheers

It works extremely well in impact mode due to the extremely high speed in 4 th gear, you will get the best bennifit from the speed for under 10mm size bits

The Festool / Protool dealers have some good specials going on now. Also includes forum sponsor Idealtools.

The way I read it is you pay $699.00 and receive bonus torch and third battery valued at $314.00
Not $700.00 reduced to $314.00 as wooduck has written.

Still a great deal, I have one, and they are a great drill.

    Frank your absolutely right.
I'll have to read those specials lists more carefully.

BTW those Festool levels(made by STABILA) are not available in VIC.
Apparently FESTOOL Aust. only had 8 and they all went to VEK Tools Syney.

Here's a review: Gary Katz Online: Festool 4-ft Level

For some reason Australia only got the 800mm levels, not the 1200mm ones.

Just to clarify, yes this is the way the special is structured. Pretty cool either way IMHO.

I'm very tempted, but there's a new PDC 18-4 coming with light, battery capacity, slightly different body, etc.

For me a third battery is moot (hobby/DIY) and I have a Syslite ... so the bonus although great value would be of little benefit!

The Protool battery light is quite a good one ...

I just grabbed a corded Protool drill, grinder, ETS150/3 and 150mm abrasives sustain from this promo - tempted to get some sortainers too.

Damn specials - I'll never get a CMS ... unless it becomes a special
