PSC 420 in CMS unit - will it mitre?
When the PSC 420 is mounted in the CMS unit the adaptor plate ADT-PS 400/420 has to be fitted. So as far as I can see the saw would not be able to be used for mitre cuts (because that requires a different plate).
Does that mean that the only saw that can be used for mitre cuts in the CMS is the PS 300 Trion? Or are mitre cuts right out when using any jigsaw in the CMS?
The website doesn't say that mitre cuts can be done even with the Trion, so it's inconclusive (in that it also doesn't say they can't be done):

HI Brett
I can only partially help.
Does a Festool jigsaw need a special foot plate e.g (WT-PS 400/420) to cut mitres? Or can you tilt the saw on the standard foot plate to cut mitres?
To mount the jigsaw in the CMS plate do you need to swap the standard base with a special base that fits the CMS plate?
If yes, then perhaps you can't do mitre cuts.
But there's always one of these http://www.neutechnik-toolshop.com/p...-jigsaw-table/
I've had the Bosch version for around 25 yearsregards from Alberta, Canada

Hi Ian, the PS 300 has inbuilt mitring, but the 400/420 do not and have to have an adaptor plate fitted (which is why they definitely won't mitre in the insert). The 400/420 need a special plate to allow the mitre cut.
Logic tells me that the PS 300 should still mitre, but I haven't seen any evidence of it in all the blurb, which makes me wonder.
That's a very interesting link. It's, ahem, quite a good price too.

Based on how my Bosch jig saw works -- you can mitre with the jaw in the table, you just can't use the splinter guard.
If the PS 300 has mitring built into the sole plate mounting, the arrangement (compared to the Bosch) will be the same.
If the PS 300 needs a different sole plate to fit into the Festool insert plate, then using it to do mitres while in the plate will be problematic.regards from Alberta, Canada

Thanks Ian. Pretty sure the PS 300 does it in-tool.
