HK-85 saw in Australia??
Has anyone heard news of release of the HK-85 circular saw in Australia?

Hmm.. better post some more info as some people might not be aware of this product. Its a pendulum saw, not a plunge saw and is aimed more at the construction sector.
I believe it would be a great partner to anyone with the 55 series plunge saws - better than the TS 75. It has a better depth of cut (10mm more), can use the same rails and has some additional features such as the nifty "trimming rail". And it has a dado attachment available for 16mm - 25mm wide & up to 35mm deep grooves.

For more depth of cut why not go the whole hog with the HK 132E saw. It also has notching and planer attachments.

Hi Les
Three problems with that -
1. It doesn't use standard rails - you have to buy special ones
2. It's damned heavy - at 18kg its almost a two person machine
3. It's $3200 - WAY more than I want to pay!

Awww c'mon man up and pay up . Fair enough. You make an interesting point. I don't usually regard Festool users as big brutes - I certainly am not.
