Default Stickfix polishing pad that won't stick!

I have just bought a polishing pad for my Rotex 150, and found that polishing attachments such as the felt pad and lambswool pad won't actually stick to it, flying off as soon as I turn on the Rotex. I am sure that there won't be any difficulty in returning it to the retailer, but has anyone else had this problem?

if the pads are all festool original definately return them to the retailer so they can investigate, the festool velcro is pretty fine so it doesnt have as much of a rip off(nothing to do with $$$'s) as the others with the longer hook & loops(velcro). The upside is that it also doesn't have the movement/friction that others have which causes the velcro to melt.

Tip for your rotex when polishing; try to not do to larger areas or press hard on the machine as it will prematurely wear out the velcro due to the heat generation

    Strange

I bought a Rotex polishing kit that came with its own pad with a different grade of velcro

are you using the standard sanding pad or the polishing pad?

Ian, there are no difficulties in keeping the polishing attachments fixed to the the standard pad that came with the Rotex - it is the special polishing pad (Festool no. 493 914 which I bought so I wouldn't have to worry about scuffing when polishing close to perpendicular surfaces) which is causing the problem.

And Team VEK Tools, thanks for the tip about using the Rotex for polishing. I will follow your advice.
