Thread: Surfix oil system

Ok it's been a while but I'm still around! This one has had me scratching my head a bit & I'm sure I'm not the only one in this position.

I have the Rotex 125 & it has served me well over many years. I have never felt the need to trade up to the 150 if anything I'd probably consider adding the relatively new, smaller 90 DX!

However that would not solve my current gripe with Festool. I would like to have seen them release a Surfix SYS Set for the RO 125 as they have for the RO 150.

With an unanswered email, to Festool, under my belt I have proceeded to purchase all the bits required to use the Surfix system with my RO 125, at the greater cost of course! It took a bit of trawling through the various Festool sites to finally work out the appropriate pads for the 125, especially the white sanding cloth version for the RO125, I nearly ordered the wrong ones!

So all said & done, I now have all the bits I need. Not quite as easy as ordering the kit for the RO150 nor the nice new systainer to add to the collection.

Now here's where I need some advice! Have I wasted money here! Could I have bought the kit for the RO 150 & used all the bits with the FastFix louver pad for the RO 125, which has a 150 diameter?

If so it might stop some head scratching for fellow 125 owners & save them a few bucks as well!!
