As long as the battery is the same voltage or less than the drill (Festool or Protool) it will work. In the case of the TI-15 Impact Drill I have tried 12V batteries and there was minimal noticeable difference in power compared to the 15V battery fitted. But this was with average impact driving, say 3-6 inch screws. Really heavy work would most likely show the difference up between using this 15V drill with 12V batteries.

As the for 18V Protool, it will take all current model Festool and Protool 18V, 15V, 12V batteries (excluding the CXS format of course).

The Protool and Festool lamps will take 12V, 15V, and 18V batteries.

guys whats best way of getting into festool cordless gear, my makita impact burned up the other day so i am after a new setup,

would not mind buying a impact and a drill, is it cheaper to get imapct skin plus drill in a kit or pay 700 for impact set, then buy drill as a skin?

maybe i should have read this thread earlier only reason i found out about impact was add in a magz,

    Hi Gaza.

I don't like to talk prices on the forum because its a bit like using the forum for advertising, but to give you a hint... either way you build your system, impact set plus drill skin - or drill set plus impact skin (assuming 14.4V tools/batteries), it should cost you the same.

The TI-15 IMPACT and C-15 DRILL are the same, and the T-15 DRILL a few bucks less than both of those.

Unfortunately not. Each drill body comes in its own Systainer. Which won't fit a second drill. But two Sys 1 of the new T-Loc variety clipped together is not that large, and can both be easily accessed without un-clipping the other Systainer off. So two Systainers are still pretty compact and you have some room for more accessories without having chock-a-block Systainers.

For example, put your primary drill, chucks, spare battery and lots of drill bits and stuff in the top Sys. And second drill body and charger in the lower one.

This might be practical arrangement. But its a personal thing I guess.
