Default TS55 - any cheaper at the WWWS

    Hi

I have just about made up my mind to purchase the TS55 and as the Canberra WWWS is coming up in September I was wondering if Festool gives any discounts at the show.

Or should I just go out and buy one now and not wait another couple of Months.

    thanks

not sure about what prices you are being quoted but i found very few items at the sydney show where that much cheaper than you can buy at any other day of the week.

i have got two Ts 55 one which i have had for five years and they are great last week we brought a Ts75 the differnce is huge, while being a bit heavy it goes through soild hardwood with out any loss of power. i would suggest if you plan on cutting soild timber rather than sheet products get the Ts75.

if you are planing on buying longer tracks just beware that the 2400 track can not cut a 2400 sheet as you need overrun to start and stop your cut. we have 800, 1400, 1900 and 3000 tracks.

hi knarf, i went to the brisbane wood show and they were normal price, but you got a cooltainer (esky) thrown in free. not a bad deal, considering a systainer 4 costs about $120.

    regards, justin.

thanks for the info, I had a feeling they might not discount them.

with the tracks i was looking at getting 2 1400 lengths as I mainly will be cutting down plywood sheets, so I thought with 2 1400's that should work ok.

the price I have been quoted is $1300

    which includes

    TS55
    Fine tooth saw blade
    1 1400 guide rail
    2 Splinter guards
    cable deflector
    2 FSZ 120 clamps
    combination angle
    kickback stop
    setback stop
    2 rail connectors
    packed in 2 systainers

    Knarf

I find the festool promotions quite good. I bought by 55 with one 1400 rail and a free rail bag. At the same time I bought a second 1400 rail with free rail connectors and a good discount off other accessories like the kickback stop and clamps.

I really thought hard about the second systainer with clamps, stop, extra splinter guard, protractor etc and decided against it in favour of specific accessories I thought I would need.

I was mainly wanting a system where I can cut down 2400 x 1200 sheets of ply with accuracy for all different types of projects.

I find currently it takes me a quite a while to set up and cut with what I currently have, saw and a straight edge.

1300 for that lot is pretty good, better than I was able to find in Sydney at the time of the last WWW Show, but then I bargain like a wet paper bag

At the Sydney Show 'they' were selling empty Systainer 1's for $50, and MFT800's for ~$500 with the 800 fence & brackets.

If you have a look around these forums there was a post about one of the internet shops having Festo TS55 & TS75 knockoffs with one 1400 rail - but no other accessories or box for about half Festo's price - orange where Festo is green.

Add 10% for GST on all VEK's prices. They had me going too for a while.

This year we are heading down to the show in Canberra, we ahve been talking to Festool in regards to special offers for the show & are still waighting for the offers.

At sydney we had the offer of the protool 160mm saw for $99INC GST which flew out the door, but unfortunately we dont have enough remaining to take them down to Canberra.

There should be some great offers at the show this year as we are not coming all the way down there so we can cart the stock back up to sydney, and nnot forgetting its fathers day weekend(im not giving up my fathers day for nothing), after all the feadback on the forum the main reason people go to trade shows are:
    • To learn about new products
    • To get good deals
    • To enjoy the chance to see all relating to there love of wood under one roof
    • And not forgetting to have a shot at the mannufacturer if the item didnt live up to expectation
Just speaking to Liz earlier today most the spaces for exhibitors are almost sold out & the show is building to beeing better than the past, after her Sydney effort & results we are putting our full support behind her & the industry.

Hopefully it works out to be a good show.

Ps Alll pricing at the show will be displayed with gst included!!

but you got a cooltainer (esky) thrown in
    These are great.

Last time I checked (last year) it seemed they were only a promotional item. Used the cooltainer more last summer than the actual saw.

I will never be the person who has everything, not when someone keeps inventing so much cool new stuff to buy.

From an early age my father taught me to wear welding gloves . "Its not to protect your hands son, its to put out the fire when u set yourself alight".

The esky is a promotional item, actually its a systainer 4 with polystyrine insert in it which can be removed to be made back into a systainer 4 which has a retail value of $100+.

i dont think festool have many left but if we can do them with the tools in canberra it should work out well as it did work in sydney.

has anyone else got any opinions in what they would prefer as a bonus so i can relay it to the festool marketing team??

The usable bonuses like sanding discs with sanders, joiners with guiderails, guiderail bags with saws, domino's with the Domino IMHO are good bonuses. The worst I have ever had is the foam drill keyring, I'm afraid it went straight in the trash.

Different coloured locking tabs for the systainers would also be a cheap promotional product that would be very useful.

Some promotional prices on accessories would also be good at the show like guiderail clamps and the deflector that goes on the end of guiderails.

Look forward to seeing you at the show.
