TS55 plunge saw at $820
I am able to get the Festool TS55 EBQ-Plus Circular Plunge Cut Saw for $820 at the moment. Is this a good buy?
Cheers,
Paul

If its bare - no its not a good price.
If it is with a systainer or better still guide rail(s) then it becomes a better price the more that comes included.

Hi Mat,
It comes with the 1400mm rail, fine tooth saw blade, splinter guard, and systainer for $820.
Should i buy at this price or is it possible to get a better deal if i wait?
Cheers,
Paul

Normal price for that setup is $946
I'd go for it at that price - I assume it is new. Try to get a discount on a second guide rail and joiner to sweeten the deal.

was going to get the 2400mm rail as well.
does the saw feel the join in the rail cause it's heaps cheaper to get another 1400mm rail & joiner than a 2400mm rail?

A joined rail ie 2 x 1400 should not interfere with a perfectly straight cut. A fixed long rail is harder to store and more likely to get damaged when moving it about. I'd go for the second 1400 rail and joiner.
PS if you are still looking at a tablesaw as well you cant't go past the Sawstop for quality and safety.

I have the two 1400 rails and join them to rip 2400 boards and it does that a treat.
If you get the TS55, you may want to consider the CMS module or the new MFT3 with CMS extension

CMS = Compact Modular System
You can put any of Festools products into the CMS frame and use it as a bench tool
Can be very handy

Hi PenmanWA,
Is the CMS system like a pimped up Triton and can you tell me if you have a vested interest with Festools, not really bothered, just like to know.

PenmanWA,
I'm not having a go, but can you clarify for me that you don't have a need to us Festools or that you choose not to use Festools.
Cheers,
Paul
PS: And if you sell Festools can you do me a deal on multiple items?

i dont have a need to use Festool but if i get into that type of woodworking then i will def buy Festool.
I could certainly do you a good deal on Festool products but the freight to get it over to you would be the killer.
I might be able to arrange it to get shipped direct to you from the supplier.
PM me with the list of what you want and contact details and i will find out on Monday if that is possible.
