Vecturo. Anyone have one?
Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has a Vecturo. What do you use it for? Do you like it.? Given the choice again, would you still buy one?
I was thinking, with the plunge base, can you cut a mortise with it? I've heard the blades trash out a bit too easily. They are expensive too.
Thanks.The squirrel has returned!

I don't, but I nearly did
Note that it is designed by Fein (maybe made by them too???) and that the significantly cheaper (last time I looked about a year or so ago) Fein blades are a perfect fit, unsurprisingly. There may also be a bigger range in the Fein blades too.

I dont either ,I have the Fein Multimaster set which was real handy relaying kitchen tiles after a fit out.

This is not answering your question, but I just wanted to mention the Festool Vecturo is a close relation to the Fein Super-Cut (pro model) not the Fein MultiMaster (handyman) model. But Festool has added a nice plunge-cutting add-on mechanism for their Vecturo which the SUperCut does not have.

Now that is cheating Johnno.

The blades are the same format. I'm not sure if they come from the same factory or have the same sources. But I'm pretty sure the Vecturo plunge accessory and a couple of other FastFix accessories only fit the Vecturo as they are Festool development. The Vecturo is not made in the Fein factory, but in Festool's own factories in Germany. I know this for sure, but I can't remember if the gearboxes or internals might be provided by Fein as that is their core innovation in Oscillating tools.

We have both the Vecturo set and Fein Multimaster in stock if you wanted to have a look at them side by side.
If you are in the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne that is.

One further note on the Vecturo, it is in the current Festool campaign, till the end of March, so you can get the set version with the plunge jigs and a range of blades for $749.
This is not too much more that the Fein mid-range tool. There is also 30% off the Vecturo blades.

Thanks for the info Steve. Unfortunately I'm nowhere near Melbourne, so no way for me to go to a demo.
The price reduction is tempting. Problem is I have no idea what I would use the vecturo for. It would probably end up just sitting around in the shed.
