My first bandsawn box
Well, I have been working on this one for over a month now (got a new bandsaw in the middle and had to get new blades). The photo's were in natural light so the finish looks a lot glossier than it does in real life. Haven't decided if I will flock the inside yet but am swaying towards no. Was thinking of making a small insert for it which would also be a ring stand. I enjoyed making it and have another block in the shed waiting to tell me what it wants to be. Happy to receive all comments favourable and otherwise as I am keen to learn more.

corbs, I'm a newbie at band saw and box making but, to me, that looks beautiful.
Thanks for the pics.
Hope you do not mind if I tell you the arrow wood does not suit, to my untrained eye?
Would you care to tell us the woods and how you finished the box, please? Will you use a gun for the flocking?

Thanks OF, the box is Aus Red Cedar and the arrow is a bit of scrap Tas Oak. Probably could have used a plain piece of Camphor I had lying around. Finish is gloss poly brushed on. If I flock it, I will use the coloured glue and flocking powder. I only have red in the shed so would need to get another colour (blue would probably look nice).

Nice work Corbs. I don't mind the arrow. The box looks really great, well done
Reality is no background music.
Cheers John

Lovely box mate, I haven't ventured into bandsaw boxes yet, still dealing with the pen saga. Nice shape and a lovely idea, is it for Lisa?

Mate with first attempts like that, it won't be long before your pushing Oatsey out of the way for floor space.

With Oatseys curved laminations and veneering, I think I will be pushing for a while before I move in on his territory
