    Default Bandsawn boxes?? for HSC

    im planning on making a bandsawn box for my mdp (major design project) for design and technonlogy. im just wondering if there are any good sites or if there is any special information that i should know?? im wondering what type of wood would be suitable and any suggestions at all would be great. ive probably posted this in the worng section but i still dont know how to use this thing. sorry and thanks

    Welcome to the best bandsawn box making forum on the Internet. Here there are a number of members who are willing to help you along the way.

    My preference is to work in Australian Red Cedar, as it does not blunt the bandsaw blade and tools. I know there are many other fine Australian timbers available, the choice is yours.

    agreed. austrailan cedar is very nice also because it is so soft and easy to work with, and i really like its scent

    I have worked with both red and white cedar and must agree with Tony's comments. Silky Oak is another wood that I find good to work with.
