    Thanks undies (and others). I've been keeping this particular chunk of silky (about 700x400x120) for a large oval platter or two but they would need to be turned outboard on the MC1100 and so I've held off for now (and yes - I'm a little scared every time I think about it). But after seeing your pen box, some might be hewn off, destined to be pen boxes. Then it might just become a more manageable bowl.

    torchwood stole my words..so Ill use other not so good ones. Simple n elegant. Also as someone else mentioned, it will become a great family heirloom.

    One of the things I have come to love is the change from bashing oneself over the head due to an error or a mark left behind to sitting down over a scotch with the new owner of the piece and reliving the numerous memories encapsulated within the box that are triggered by those little "features"
    While I strive for perfection I cant help but love the mistakes that almost remain unnoticed
