Default First box, camphor and pine

    Hi everyone,

Bandsawn boxes aren't my usual thing but I had a quarter inch blade and some offcuts, so here's one of my first.

Camphor front and back with a pine strip in the middle. The entry cut was a huge mistake, I ended up putting it on the top and it stands out. But it was a learning experience if nothing else.

Thanks. I'm waiting to cop flak over the use of pine instead of something nicer but they were pieces out of the scrap pile so were otherwise destined for burning. It's given me some good ideas about laminating some other stuff to save on wastage.

    Thanks everyone.

The entry point isn't easy to see in this picture. It's towards the top right just as it curves downwards. I was so intent in putting the cut along the grain that I didn't think about it being on top.

Next time I'll know better, and this one taught me a lot about what works and what doesn't.

Looks good. The Camphor Laurel colours came out well.
Are you planning on lining the drawer?

I haven't decided yet whether to line it. I'd probably go with green if I decide to put felt in.

Thanks everyone for the compliments. I've got some more ideas to try now. All I need is the time to implement them. )
