Christmas Nautilus
Finished this one for my father in-law on Christmas morning. Figured he might appreciate this a little more than the chocolate sea shells he usually gets this time of year, hopefully last a bit longer too. I've really loved this Allan Williams design ever since I first saw it a couple of years ago and always wanted to have a crack at it. Had just the right piece of Tasmanian Myrtle left over and this is the end result. Finish is Danish oil and beeswax.
Hope you all had a relaxing and safe Christmas and that in 2008 you all get to spend plenty of time in your sheds.
Regards Woodbutcher !

Very nice woodbutcher. Better than a "chocolate sea shell" anyday.
In woodworking there is no scrap, only firewood.

Ta
Thanks for the positive comments folks.
Hi Tony, yes in 2008 I am hoping to post a few more boxes on this forum. It's been a great place to see some unique designs and get some ideas. I'm working on a couple of my own at present that have been underway for a while and I hope to get these and a few more finished next year. I'd like to come up with a few more original designs rather than mostly copies of other designers even though they are exceptionally good.
Happy new year to all !!

Great job on the box! Nice selection of wood and finish. I also saw Alan's piece and used that as one of the inspiration pieces for my own.
