Default Finally finished my second box...

    hello all,

i have been trying my hardest to make these bandsawn boxes over the last couple of months with limited success. the first one i made turned out nice. i felt very positive about it all and set out to try a bunch of things. i ruined my next 3 boxes!!! some of them got me so frustrated they ended up meeting the floor at maximum velocity

i then tried a design of my own to see what i could come up with (previous attempts were insired from pics on the net). the result is the box in this thread. i started with a piece of generic wood from bunnings which came out looking very plain so i decided to stain it. this was also my first time using a drum sander, and as you can see it got away from me a little.

The finish is wet and dry sanding to 320 grit then ubeaut sanding sealer followed by sanding with wet and dry 400 grid. stained with wattle rosewood alcohol product then 2 coats of minwax wipe on poly using 0000 steel wool between coats then polish with EEE followed by traditional wax.

Nice work and the colour is attractive, good finish.
    Reality is no background music.
