I'm going to a wedding later TODAY......
I'm going to a wedding today for a couple who have been together for many years and who have "finally decided to tie the knot". They really don't need anything and so have suggested cash instead of gifts. I was laying in bed this morning after a VERY late night and decided that I have a reputation as a woodworker to uphold and so I made this to hold the cash;

I stumbled out of bed at the crack of 8 , down to the shed, found and trimmed a scrap of jarrah (?), resawed into 3, shaped centre piece, glued and clamped by 9 (down the street, washed the car, bought fuel, had meaningful negotiations with the hole-in-the-wall, back home, breakfast, ironed shirt), 10:30, unclamped, shaped on disk sander, sanded 180, 240, 400, 600, friction rubbed with AussieOil, finished just after 11.
Now what do I do until 2pm?

With all that done in the morning, I'd expect something a little more simple by 2pm. Maybe cure cancer, but if the bride is running late I'd expect world peace to be on the cards as well.
It always amazes me how much we can actually get done when deadlines are above our heads.... As long as no one finds out how much you CAN achieve in small time frames (I made the mistake of showing the wife how hard I can work, now it's almost expected)
Nice job fletty!!"All the gear and no idea"

I like the way you finished 3 hours ahead of time. Proper aging makes all the difference.
