You may want to join the Yahoo! group 'bandsawboxes' for more information. We also have a few sets of free instructions on how to make different sorts of boxes in our files section. Looking through our photos section is a real eye opener. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/bandsawboxes/

threading
I finally looked it up, and I'm supposed to 'subscribe to this thread' if I want to get email notification when a posting has been made.
I can't find that statement anywhere.
Help!?

Are they as good.
From my point of view, the plans or pictures in galleries are just starting points. Who wants to make a copy of something someone else has made. Be creative and use these designs as starters to create your own unique boxes.
Tony may have the best plans in the world but they won't amount to much if you don't have the skills to execute them.
Tony's work is brilliant, and so is that of Alan Williams, and if I could ever get to be half as good as them I would be very pleased with myself.
What makes me proud is when I can come up with my own design - even though inspired by someone elses work.

Gidday Tony and Don
I went to Tonys site and spent a wonderous time looking about then downloaded his free box plans the other week (they now reside in my "to do" box in the shed )... I see the work he does and as Ive never made a "sculptured box" can only aspire to his level... the plans offered I see as inspiration and a handson learning initiation offering to get people started once they have (I have) done one or two they (I) will naturally progress to creating our (my) own designs
That sort of free help is priceless
Of course now hes offering prizes (which I did NOT win by the way ) One hopes that this will further encourage others (not me cause I didnt win ) to undertake their first "sculptured box" and so see a progression of the art
Congrats to the winner by the way
Good on both Tony and Ubeaut for making my not winning possible to my friends here on the board I want to tha... ooh right I dont get to do a speach cause I didnt win did I? sigh... next time eh?!
ooh with plans... I guess like most things theyre designed to be changed as the whim or fancy takes us... sorta like the table Ive just made which was meant to be a fold down top table with a heart hoop in the trestle which held the table up... I changed it so now its an up all the time table as I wasnt happy with the heart peice... makes sence to look at something learn from it and change it to what makes you happy "sculptured boxes" being no different
I was gonna send Tony a pic of my first attempt but figured Id better not since Id loose so much cred with him he'd crack up every time I showed me dial hereBelieve me there IS life beyond marriage!!! Relax breathe and smile learn to laugh again from the heart so it reaches the eyes!!

No seriously Tony I couldnt do that
Actually theres a very real reason why I cant post any pics of my first attempt
I havent even started the first attempt!! Yeah I know pretty slack of me I know but well I reckon Ive got good reason ... well first the power to the shed is a long extention lead connected to the heater powerpoint out the back and second its bloody rainin here and thirdly I DO NOT muck about with extention leads power sources and other such deadly things when its rainin... and thats me reason an Im stickin to it!
AND... I did say(they now reside in my "to do" box in the shed)
HOWEVER!!!... When I do start my first attempt I will be havin a go at one of yours that way if I buggar it up I can blame you!
No to make a separate point of this I dont think I could make a buggarup of it given your instructions and pics its gonna be... too easy
And mate Ive no hessitation in postin pics of the good the bad and the bloody shockin that turn out of Dingo Creek woodbutchery shed... the abbatoir of the woodpileBelieve me there IS life beyond marriage!!! Relax breathe and smile learn to laugh again from the heart so it reaches the eyes!!
