Red gum boxes. WIP.
Hello, my name is Ross.
I am in year 10 at a high school in R-ADelaide and I really enjoy working with wood.
part of year 10 wood technology is to make a table like project, I decided to make a desk out of a red gum slab and jarrah. (look out for it in the big stuff forum)
anyway to the point, I had 2 pieces of red gum offcuts from the ends of the slab
they are about 150mm wide 90mm thick (when glued up) and 500mm long,
so I will be making a couple of boxes that will hopefully help you build your ownindeed.

the block of red gum
last night I glued up the offcuts to make a substantial block of wood.
I used epoxy to glue them because I did not want the two pieces to break apart.
I think that the grain looks beutiful but it may be hard to see in the photo
here are a couple of photos.indeed.

We have tons of these red gum trees here where I'm from and most people think they are trash trees. I want a portable saw mill since I've realized they make such beautiful lumber.
