Ugly box
Is anyone home?
I got sick of making nice looking boxes so I made an ugly one. Red cedar and osage orange, finished with tung oil.
Cheers

Love the work. It's as quirky as it is elegant!

Awesome and inspiring, it has a very devilish quality to it. Not sure if that was intentional.

Like it Barry!
Not ygly in my estimation, but it does have a slightly sinister look to it.

At least Joe shares my finely tuned aesthetic sensibilities.
Thanks for the feedback: think I will call this one "In-Fern-Al".
Now I'll take Tony's advice and go back to trying to make nice ones.
Best wishes

I never quite know what will turn out next, Tony, just have to wait and see.
Maybe an internal rub with some Wild Turkey will get the creative juices going. Might have to give it a nudge.
Cheers

Square corners have been done before. What a pleasant construction to look at.
In some older volumes of Lewis Carroll's "Alice In Wonderland," there is a drawing/lithograph/etching of Alice with a tall chest of drawers which appears nearly to be made of rubber. I think that one would fit in your head.
