If you are looking at applied marquetry (not pictorial), then I highly comend 'The Marquetry Course' by Metcalfe and Apps.

Thanks Chris It’s not something that I am going to start next week but rather another interest/passion in the art of working in wood I will try to get that book from the library... or off the net to put into my library.
After the road grader it’s the wooden locks that Steve/Hermet is into at the moment speaking of which I think I owe him a response on a post with that.
It’s a busy place this forum I really don’t know how I found time to go to work!!

If you are a glutton for punishment, Lost Art Press is publishing 'Roubo on Marquetry' in 2013. I have ordered the $400US limited, full original size edition with the fold out color plates, but they are also doing it as a regular, slightly smaller edition which will be available thru people like Lee Valley & possibly Eckert's in SA. It also covers benches & wood dyeing.
Details of the Roubo books are in Chris Schwar's blog at Lostartpress.com
Don't blame me if you get sucked in too.
