    Default Parquetry Learning Material…

I was wondering if any of you marquetry craftsman know of any good books or DVD’s or blogs for learning Parquetry? (Fans, basket weave, general patterns, stars and such)

    Thanks Woodtec / Richard

    Hi Richard,

No replacement for just having a go and getting it wrong until you work out a better way but "The Best of Fine Woodworking" have a publication. Veneering, Marquetry and Inlay. Publisher Taunton.

If you would like some help by all means PM with any problems you have or techniques you would like to know about.

    Cheers

Thanks one and all for the replies. I have just gotten some veneer and am trying to learn some new techniques.

Toolbagsplus, I will check out “The Best of Fine Woodworking" publication. Veneering, Marquetry and Inlay. Publisher Taunton” and that’s for the invite for more help I just may take you up on it.

paul collins, I just got the same lead on the book you recommended from a friend and have it on order from the library so I should be getting it soon hopefully…

chrisb691, I will look over the site you recommended. A quick look at it seem like it’s got a lot of info.

Also here is a site someone recommended as well…. http://www.marquetrysociety.ca/Parquetry.html

    Thanks Woodtec / Richard

Default Paul good lead on the book...

Paul, I received The Marquetry Course book from the library and you are right in saying it has a lot of good information in it. I learned a lot from it. I guess it’s time to go out and try some of the patterns it showed how to make…

    Thanks Woodtec / Richard
